ATS was featured on Cleveland's cable channel on a program Disable the Label of Disability:
An Awareness Program. Click here to view the program that was broadcast to 85,000
Cleveland households.
ATS STAFF FEATURED IN BOOK (posted 11/2009)
Martha Stitt, ATS Clinical Coordinator, is featured in the book, Rounding the Circle of Love:
Growing Up as She Grows Old, an interactive guide that shows how to lower stress for
caregivers and elders, by Harriet Tramer. Martha presented how art therapy is used for
seniors, particularly those with memory loss, at Joseph-Beth Booksellers on November 10th.

The Art Therapy Studio (ATS) was recognized by the Cleveland
Departments of Aging and Public Health for our leadership in providing
essential services to individuals living with a disability in our community.

her work by Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson at City Hall. Congratulations

MICKIE MCGRAW, AWARDED CLEVELAND ARTS PRIZE (posted 5/2010)
Congratulations to Art Therapy Studio co-Founder Mickie McGraw. On June 26, 2010 the Cleveland Arts
Prize awarded Mickie the Martha Joseph Prize for Distinguished Service to the Arts, which honors an
individual or organization whose exceptional commitment, vision, leadership or philanthropy has made a
significant contribution to the vitality and stature of the arts in Northeast Ohio. For more information, click

Thanks to all who helped make our Creative Confections Desert Competition a Sweet Success! Everyone
had a great time learning about art therapy and sampling delicious desserts at the Cleveland Botanical
Garden on October 16th. All of our competitors did a wonderful job!

SWEETEST DAY DELIGHTS (posted 11/2010)
Honorary chair Chef Roland Mesnier, author and former Executive Pastry Chef of the White House for five presidents,
sent a heartfelt and whimsical video message encouraging chefs to compete to their best ability, encouraging guests to
pat the chefs on the back for a job well done and to open their wallets wide since it was a fundraising event. He
expressed his desire to attend the next event in person and perhaps offer a lecture and demonstration.

“ACCESSIBLE EXPRESSIONS OHIO 2011" (posted 6/15/11)
Art Therapy Studio is proud to partner with VSA Ohio, the state organization on arts and disability, to showcase
“Accessible Expressions Ohio 2011” at The Gallery at Art Therapy Studio’s Fairhill Partners site June 1 through mid-
July.
“Accessible Expressions” is a statewide, juried, visual art exhibition that tours to select cities in Ohio each year. An
important component of VSA Ohio’s professional development programming, the exhibit offers Ohio artists with
disabilities the opportunity to participate in an adjudicated exhibition, provides exposure to state and national
audiences, and enhances their portfolios.
