ANNIVERSARY BENEFIT
40 Years of Art and Influence
Thank you for supporting the Art Therapy Studio’s 40th Anniversary event held on November 3,
2007 at Trinity Cathedral. It was a delightful evening, a beautiful celebration of “40 years of Art
and Influence”.
Over 300 people enjoyed viewing the George Streeter Circulating Collection to choose art to
rent for one-year, bidding on the Silent and Live Auction, and watching the Artists at Work!
We are excited to announce that we are only $2500 away from netting $40,000! This was our
dream goal, to net $40,000 for our 40th. You can help by spreading the word that high quality
Birthday Cards are available for purchase: 6 cards for $10 (2 each of 3 designs - 2 different
packets). The designs were created by clients and friends of the Art Therapy Studio. They
are great Holiday gift items – everyone needs to send birthday cards!

ART LOAN - GEORGE STREETER CIRCULATING COLLECTION
The George Streeter Circulating Collection was established in 1984. It contains over 200 pieces of artwork
contributed by recognized Cleveland area artists, such as Viktor Schreckengost and Herb Ascherman, to the
patient/artists who have participated in the Studio's creative, therapeutic arts programs since 1967. The Collection
uniquely represents our belief that art making is important to the lives of all people, whether the painting is created by
a brush held in the mouth or the hand.
Artwork donated to the Circulating Collection is a one-time contribution that generates funds annually through our
unique “art loan” concept. At this bi-annual special benefit exhibition, these paintings are “loaned” to guests for a
one-year period in return for a donation. The benefits of the Circulating Collection are two-fold: it gives Cleveland
artists and our patient/artists the opportunity to showcase their work and it provides the Art Therapy Studio with a
continuing and sustaining means of generating money. Since the inception of the art loan program, over $150,000
has been raised for our therapeutic arts programs. Online Catalog of Artists and Artwork

This event is our major fundraiser to support our clients in art therapy programs. Whether our clients have had a
stroke, received a traumatic brain or spinal cord injury, are recovering from addictions, have suffered from abuse, or
turn to art as a creative wellness outlet, art therapy provides self-expression and the opportunity for tremendously
valuable healing and growth. We will look forward to seeing you next Fall at our Dessert Competition.
We sometimes hear from people that their corporation sets its philanthropic budget in winter, so when we send out
sponsorship packets in June, it is too late. If we should approach your (your spouse’s, your neighbor’s) company
before June to sponsor our Dessert Competition in October, please contact Karen@arttherapystudio.org.
