Held at the architecturally exquisite Bohemian National Hall in Slavic

celebrated Cleveland’s rich cultural history. Fourteen competitors
representing Northeast Ohio’s most notable culinary talent competed
in the evening’s Creative Confections Dessert Competition.
A panel of 15 culinary experts judged 22 culinary delights on taste and
artistic presentation. Desserts represented many countries, including
Hungary, China, Italy, Korea, France, Germany, Ireland, Greece, and
Syria. Taking “Best of Show” was Diana Dimitru’s Hungarian Rhapsody!
Former White House Executive Pastry Chef Roland Mesnier graciously
presented the awards, signed copies of his books, and greeted guests
and competitors throughout the evening.
We extend our most sincere thank you to the people who made Celebrating Cleveland’s Cultures
such a success. Very special thanks to Honorary Chair Roland Mesnier, and Co-Chairs Chris Treu
and Marilea Campomizzi. Special thanks to Emcee Kurt Treu, Competition Consultant Tina Körting,
the judges, competitors and supporters. Thanks also to our dedicated committee and army of
volunteers…we could not have done it without you!
