ART LOAN - GEORGE STREETER CIRCULATING COLLECTION
Our Artloan Benefit  features the George Streeter Circulating Collection which contains over 200 pieces of artwork
contributed by recognized Cleveland artists such as Viktor Schreckengost and Herb Ascherman, as well as patients/artists
who have participated in the Studio’s creative, therapeutic arts programs since 1967.

These paintings are “loaned” to guests for a one-year period in return for a donation. The benefits of the Circulating
Collection are two-fold: it gives Cleveland artists and our patient/artists the opportunity to showcase their work and it
provides the Art Therapy Studio with a continuing means of generating funds. Since the inception of the ArtLoan program,
over $150,000 has been raised to support our therapeutic arts programs.

You will also have the opportunity to see Artists at Work - watch artists in action, speak with them about their creative
process, and bid on artwork created that night at the event.  Personal interaction is the greatest value in the Art Therapy
process — when people create together in the Studio, hope is also created - hope that support, growth, and healing is
possible.

PRIOR ARTLOAN BENEFIT
ArtLoan 2011 raised $40,983.50, surpassing our goal by $3,000!
Whether you were a volunteer, artist, corporate sponsor, or guest
attending the event, we thank you for your contribution to our
success.

Over two hundred guests, artists, and volunteers attended the
elegant semi-annual fundraising event at Shaker Heights Country
Club on Saturday, September 10. Guests enjoyed scrumptious
hors d’oeuvres, delectable pastries and charming dulcimer and
guitar music by Lisa and Heather Malyuk.

The George Streeter Circulating Collection, comprised of more
than 250 pieces of artwork contributed by recognized Cleveland-
area artists and Art Therapy Studio clients, was the featured
attraction. Ten new pieces were displayed this year. Guests
viewed the collection and selected pieces to “rent” for their
homes or offices for one year. 59 guests rented 125 pieces.
Guests also bid to rent “Premiere” works worth up to $10,000 by Schreckengost, O’Sickey,
Weiss, Dali, and Woehrman. Honorary Chair Erica Weiss’ work “Calm” received the most bids.

Five local artists created one-of-a-kind pieces during the event. Very special thanks to JoAnn
DePolo, Wally Kaplan, Carol Medhurst, Jen Pitts and Gail Wetherell Sack for allowing guests to
watch the creative process unfold.

The live auction of art donated by the five guest artists, a guided private tour of Progressive
Insurance Company’s art collection, and a one week stay in a two-bedroom Marriott Newport
Coast Villa overlooking the Pacific Ocean near Laguna Beach and Disneyland raised $2,875.

The silent auction of hand-made jewelry, ceramics, wearable art, and more, raised $2,660. A
ceramic bowl donated on behalf of Susan Armbrecht’s estate garnered the most bids: 24.

A delighted Lloyd Groves won the Grand Prize Raffle—a $2,299 Sharp 60” AQUOS LED TV.

We extend our most sincere thank you to the army of 40 spirited and hard-working volunteers
who made ArtLoan 2011 such a success. Very special thanks go to Artist and Honorary
Chairperson Erica Weiss, Chairperson Chris Treu, Emcee Kurt Treu and Auctioneer Kelly Grimm
Knowlton. We also wish to recognize our “stellar” volunteers who went above and beyond in
their volunteer service.

Join us at our next fundraising event, Creative Confections Dessert Competition, in Fall 2012.
